STERLING BOWMAN-RANDALL

she/her

Garden Development Manager

As a Garden Development Manager at KGD, Sterling specializes in supporting our community’s early childhood garden spaces. You will be sure to see her at the farm on plant and seed distribution days and you could see her out in the community installing or supporting GRP community gardens. As the Urban Roots Coordinator, Sterling supports community leaders with education and technical support. Sterling is a native Detroiter who moved to South Georgia as a teen and always knew she would eventually return home. As a college student, she began learning about Detroit’s rich urban agricultural history and began volunteering with a local family farm to start gathering knowledge to take home with her. Outside of KGD she hosts garden tea parties and makes value-added products with the herbs from her backyard garden. Her favorite hobbies outside of garding include crocheting, watching movies, cooking, and traveling. She is interested in herbalism and familial genealogy research. Sterling received her BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Valdosta State University..
